Steering wheels are not a hands-free device (First in a series of three)

One-hour evidence-based PowerPoint presentation covers issues like seat belt and cell phone usage, distracted and defensive driving, pre-trip inspection, backing, roundabouts, and winter driving (abbreviated, seasonal). The intent is to remind employees of the seriousness of driver safety whether they drive for work or not.

Deconstructing a crash – Jeopardy game (Second in a series of three)

One-hour presentation beginning with the aftermath of a crash, crash rates and costs associated with recuperation, how crashes affect employment, family and spirit, pre-trip inspection, driving tips, and ending with an interactive game of Jeopardy to review content. This Jeopardy game has been a big hit!!

Are you a defensive driver? (Third in a series of three)

A one-hour presentation that starts with defining what makes a defensive driver. Includes talk about various defensive driving technique and cover items like pre-trip inspection, speed, fatigue, communicating your presence, unplanned behaviors, fixed hazards, and managing space.

Keeping Employees Safe – Winter Driving

45-minute presentation covering where and when crashes occur, the damage caused, preparing for winter travels, pre-trip inspection, following distance, driving tips, road safety, and safely driving near snow plows.

CDL Employee Programs

Are You Making the Grade? – School Bus Driver Safety

One-hour evidence-based PowerPoint presentation covers issues like seat belt and cell phone usage, distracted and defensive driving, CMV pre-trip inspection, backing, railroad crossing, loading and unloading and roundabout safety. The intent is to remind employees of the responsibility of safety they possess as owners of a CDL.

CDL Written Examination Prep Class

Offered at the Safety Council office in Lincoln Four-hour class focused on preparing individuals for taking the written CDL test. Discusses the basics of the examination process and review the material for the General Knowledge, Combination and Air Brake tests. Includes multiple interactive games and videos to aid in the learning process.

Corporate driver safety template

If you would like an expert to review your current driver policy, they will at no charge. They have spent many hours in the last couple years reviewing federal and state organizations recommendations for updating and keeping policy current. They can supply you with a template, if that is helpful. Abbreviated programs are also offered for lunch-and-learns with service organizations.
